About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Sales Director to lead regional operations and drive business development within the exciting and dynamic field of non-standard automation solutions. In this critical role, you will be responsible for building and managing a high-performing team, cultivating strong customer relationships, and securing significant orders within the North American automotive market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regional Operations Management: Oversee all aspects of branch operations, ensuring efficient and effective team performance.
- Build and lead a cohesive and high-performing regional team, aligning their efforts with corporate objectives.
- Business Development & Customer Acquisition: Develop and execute comprehensive annual and quarterly sales plans to achieve ambitious growth targets.
- Actively build and maintain strong relationships with key regional customers through regular visits, proactive communication, and industry events.
- Position the company as a preferred supplier within the automotive OEM landscape.
- Customer Relationship Management: Cultivate long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships with customers, fostering trust and open communication.
- Gain deep insights into customer project roadmaps and ensure early company involvement in Request for Information (RFI) discussions.
- Order Management: Develop and present compelling value propositions and tailored pricing strategies to secure profitable orders.
- Oversee the seamless execution and fulfilment of all orders, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Market Analysis & Strategic Planning: Gather, analyse, and interpret market data, customer trends, and competitive intelligence to inform strategic decision-making.
- Identify and pursue new market opportunities within the North American region.
- Risk & Complaint Management: Proactively identify and address potential customer complaints.
- Implement robust risk mitigation strategies to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and minimize potential issues.
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven Experience: in sales, business development, or account management within the non-standard automation solutions or systems integration industry.
- Demonstrated success in working with and securing business from automotive OEMs.
- Industry Expertise: Strong understanding of the automotive manufacturing landscape and the challenges faced by OEMs.
- In-depth knowledge of non-standard automation technologies, including robotics, machine vision, and advanced controls.
- Leadership & Management: Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate, mentor, and develop a high-performing team.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Customer Focus: Strong customer relationship-building skills, with a focus on building trust, understanding customer needs, and exceeding expectations.
- Analytical & Strategic Thinking: Ability to analyze market data, identify trends, and develop effective sales strategies.
